Abstract: | In this study we analyzed the branch (all patterns of the fine woody fraction of Fictis yoponensis Desv. and Nectandra ambigens Uiakc (C.K, Alien) in a Mexican tropical rain forest. Permanent quadrats were used to collect the material. Branches were grouped into two diameter categories: dl%2cm (fine Jitter) and 2cm>d2-VS15 (coarse litter) (Proctor, 1984). In N. ambigem and }•] yoponemis branches significant differences in both season were recorded. I Inwever, specific branch fall was not different among trees. The total branch fall did not show significant differences among season or in diameter. The effect of abiotic factors, intrinsic branch properties and spatial heterogeneity arc discussed. |
