Abstract: The frequency and ecological diversity of endopsammophylous marine mycobiota, were evaluated in Barra de Navidad, Jalisco. From a total of 406 isolates, 13 belonged to the Zygomycetes, 279 to the Deuteromycetes, 103 to the Ascomycetes and 11 to the Basidiomycetes. Twenty three genera with 37 species were identified; the most frequent species was Microascus trigonosporus (10.59%) a species of terrestrial origin. Only two strictly marine species were sporadically isolated, Corollospora maritima (0.25%) and C. intermedia (0.98%); the last species together with Drechslera halodes (4.43%) a facultative marine micromycete, are new records for Mexico. Results showed a high diversity of endopsammophilous species (diversity index D = 0.84) in that environment.
