Abstract: | The brachiopods Krotovia sp., Dasvsaria sp., Derbyoides cf D. dunbari. Neospirifer cf N. amphigyus, Neospirifer sp., Spiriferellina tricosa and ?Holosia sp.. and the trilobite Anisopyge whitei are described freom Lower Permian (WolfcampianLeonardian) rocks freom Otlamalacatla region. northwest of Hidalgo State. The association is similar to Permian faunas freom west Texas and almost all these taxa are recorded for the first time in Mexico. These faunas were reworked and deposited by turbiditic flows that remobilized shallow marine deposits in the context of a submarine volcanic arc, which developed on continental crust of eastern Mexico during early Permian times. |
