| Abstract: | A general screening for secondary metabolites was carried out with the methanolic extract from the leaves and stems of Amarantus paniculatus Schinz (Amarantaceae). Two coumarins: umbelliferone 1 and scopoletin 2, one chromone derivative, piliostigmin 3 (2-phenoxychromone) and three flavonoids: 6,8-di-C-methylquercetin-3-methyl ether 4, eucalyptin 5 and gnaphaliin 6 were isolated. |
