| Abstract: | The energy exchange between three optical waves is considered in centrosymmetric media with localized electronic states. An additional contribution to the energy flow that goes beyond the usual Poynting vector is derived. For non-absorbing systems the energy-conserving permutation symmetry of the nonlinear susceptibilities is established. |
