| Abstract: | Three pyrrolizidine alkaloids were isolated from Critonia morifolia and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Besides the already known rinderine and its O-12-acetylderivative, one with a new strucure was found. For this alkaloid (O-9-(+)-viridifloryl-retronecine) the name, morifoline, is proposed.
