Are done a research on the possibility that the metacycJic trypomastigots of Trypanosoma cruzi have a specify for the endothelial cells. Until today is unknown the cells that use the parasite to do its first reproductive cycle. In experiments with cell cultures, it has been observed that both, blood and metacyclic trypomastigots are able to invade a great variety of cells. In two of the three populations of T. cruzi study, the first generation of amastigots, are in endothelial cells. In the case, of 5 days PI, are found endothelial cells with high nests with metacydic tripomastigots. If is also the case for other T. cruzi populations, is possible deduce that the metacyclic have a higher specify that blood trypomastigots, and that when preparing a vaccine designed, not only to dimish the acute phase of the disease, but also to prevent the establishment of the parasite, it with be necessary to know previously wich are the affinities of metacycJic in local populations of T. cruzi.
