Sistema digestivo y vejiga natatoria del bagre balsas Ictalurus balsanus (Pisces: Ictaluridae)

Abstract

Morphological organization of the digestive system of the Balsas catfish, lctaluros balsanus fits in the structural pattern of the Siluriformes, and shows a carnivorous habit of feeding. This species is different to lctaluros punctatus in the size of the premaxilar tooth plate and in the shape of the Iiver. Digestive system of the family Ariidac is similar, however, arids differ in having palatine dentition. The swim bladder is connected to the esophagus, but different than other ictalurids, it has two chambers. The posterior chamber modifies the shape of the posterior kidney.

La organización del sistema digestivo del bagre del Balsas, lctaluros balsanus corresponde al patrón estructural de los Situriformes e indica un hábito carnívoro de alimentación de tipo bentófago. Esta especie difiere, lctaluros punctatus en el tamaño de la placa dentada premaxilar y en la forma del hígado. El sistema digestivo de representantes de las familias Ariidae es similar, sin embargo, los estos difieren en la presencia de dentición palatina. Conectada al esófago se encuentra la vejiga natatoria, la cual muestra a diferencia de otros ictalúridos, dos cámaras, de las cuales la posterior modifica la forma del riñón posterior.
