A general view on the possibilities of research in the field of mycology is presented. The wide perspectives in this field are indicated avoiding many details about each of the big areas of mycology selected to cover this exposure. Comments are made summarizing on several perspectives of research in the following areas of science: 1) taxonomy and biogeography, 2) ecology and evolution, 3) cellular biology, molecular biology and genetics, 4) biochemistry, biophysics and physiology, 5) biotechnology, 6) forest and agricultural mycology and phytopathology, 7) human and veterinary medical mycology. |
