Abstract:
A correlation was established between short term radon measurements (with a duration of two days) made in the spring season and those of a long term assessment used as an annual average. The objective and advantage of this correlation is that a short term measurement provides a reasonable estimate of the mean radon concentration. It also provides an indication of the probability for high radon concentrations in a group of dwellings rather than making use of prediction for specific radon concentration in an individual dwelling to be used in evaluating the exposure to individuals.
