Abstract:
Flavonoid chromatographic profiles were determined and chLorogenic and ferulic acid were quantified in 4 maize lines with different responses against attack by Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith), and at two leaf growth stages. In the two leaf growth stages and in the 4 lines there were differences in the flavonoid profiles, both in the number of spats and in the phenolic acids amounts. These results may indicate a potential role far the analized compounds in leaf resistance against insect attack.
