dc.description.abstract A new species, Ficimia hardyi, is described from northern Hidalgo, Mexico, in the upper headwaters of the Rio Panuco at elevations of 1480-2100 m. Although superficially similar to F. variegata, its closest relative is F. publia, the most widely distributed and variable species of the genus, occurring in the lowlands of the same drainage system as the new species. en_US
