We describe the construction of a temperature gradient type cloud chamber where, instead of the traditional solutions usually adopted, the saturated atmosphere is produced by dew of an alcoholic solution coming from the upside of the chamber. The resultant chamber turns out to be very stable, working for several hours without interruption and with a clear definition of the traces traversing it. On the other hand the size and sensibility of the prototypes we constructed where good enough to detect with clarity cosmic rays. We also study the sensibility of the chamber to a particles coming from external radiactive sources. |
