Abstract:
This paper describes the results obtained for the production and characterization of a radioactive C-11 beam, by means of the in flight technique at the tandem laboratory of the National Institute of Nuclear Research, Mexico. The C-11 production technique described here, uses the well known Associated Particle Technique (APT) with the reaction H-2(B-10,C-11)n, in order to obtain a biunivocal correspondence between the radioactive C-11 particles and the associated neutrons. A discussion concerning the possible use of this C-11 beam in the study of the elastic scattering of protons is introduced.
