Abstract:
These notes contain a series of ten lectures delivered at the ''Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico'' on its ''Primer Seminario de K-Teoria Algebraica''. They provide an introduction to the subject as well as to the other expositions in this volume. In Chapter I we review some important concepts from Homological Algebra starting from the elementary concepts and assuming a knowledge of the reader of Group and Ring Theory only. In Chapter II we present the (Co)Homology of Groups in a very elementary way underlying the relevant results used to establish its relation with Algebraic K-Theory. In Chapter III we define the basic concepts of (classical) Algebraic K-Theory and establish its relation with the Homology of Groups.
