dc.description.abstract	The presence of phototoxic compounds and their distribution in the different parts of the plant (root, stem with leaves, inflorescence, achenes and seeds) of Tagetes tenuifolia Cav. was established. Four polyacetylenic and four thiophenic compounds were isolated and their phototoxicity against Bacillus subtilis determined. A tentative correlation was established between the structure of these compounds and their phototoxic activity.	en_US
