Abstract:
Chemical investigation of the roots of the medicinal plant Roldana sessilifolia yielded 1-alpha-angeloyloxy-10-beta-H-eremophil-7(11)-en-8-alpha,12-olide, 1-alpha-angeloyloxy-10-beta-hydroxy-eremophil-7(11)-en-8-alpha,12-olide and 1-alpha-angeloyloxy-10-beta-H,8-beta-hydroxy-eremophil-7(11)-en-8-alpha,12-olide. The first two are new compounds and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical methods. The compounds were not toxic in an Artemia salina bioassay.
